Restoring Explorer Windows After A Restart
Ever been in the middle of sorting through files deep into a some random directories, with a whole bunch of Explorer windows open? Kinda like this…

Now all of a sudden for some God-knows-what reason, you gotta restart?…
Who wants to lose all their open Explorer windows, along with their paths and screen positions and have to do it all over again?!!!
Nope, not I. And I know you don’t either. This is why I always make sure I tweak this setting when setting up Windows, and you should too.
So let’s do it.
MAKE EXPLORER RESTORE WINDOWS AFTER RESTART
1. Open an Explorer window.
Here’s the shortcut…
Windows Key+E
2. Hit the ‘View’ tab, Then click the ‘Options’ icon. (This opens the ‘Folder Options’ window). You can also hit the arrow underneath and select ‘Change Folder and Search Options’ in the drop-down menu.
*** The shortcut command to achieve this is:
Alt+V
Y
O

3. In the Folder Options window, select the ‘View’ tab.

4. In the ‘Advanced Settings’ section, scroll down until you find ‘Restore Previous Folder Windows At Logon’. Make sure it’s box is checked.

5. Hit Apply. Then hit OK.

The changes take effect immediately. The next time you restart, the last Explorer windows you had open will be restored gracefully.
That’s it my friend! Peace and Blessings to you! 🙂
